How WillAi website chat works
Plain English, no jargon. Here's what happens from the first chat to your assistant answering customers on your website.
The short version
I build an AI chat assistant for your website, trained on your own pages and documents. It answers customers' questions any time, says so when it doesn't know, captures enquiries and points urgent ones to your phone. Installation is a one-off NZ$2,000 incl. GST NZ$1,000 incl. GST with an email code (Get 50% off: enter your email for a code); you pay DocsBot directly for the plan, at prices set by DocsBot.
Step 1: a quick chat
We talk about the questions customers ask, the details you'd want from a new enquiry, what counts as urgent, and where bookings should go. If it doesn't sound like a good fit, I'll tell you.
Step 2: I build and test it
I choose and tidy the pages and documents the assistant learns from (your prices, services, service area, policies), write its instructions and tone, set up enquiry forms, "Call us" and booking buttons, then test it with the awkward questions before any customer sees it. You can try it before it goes on your site.
Step 3: your own DocsBot account
Your assistant runs on DocsBot, a specialist AI chat platform. You subscribe to a DocsBot plan in your own name and pay DocsBot directly (Standard for most businesses, or Business for busier sites; see pricing). The account and your chats belong to you. With your OK, I stay on as a helper on your account so I can make changes for you. As a DocsBot partner, I may receive a commission from DocsBot when you subscribe; it doesn't change what you pay.
Step 4: go live
The chat widget goes on your website with one line of code. I can add it, or send it to your web person. You can also share a hosted chat link.
Step 5: ongoing help
After it goes live, I'm on hand to fix any wrong or missing answers and update it when your prices or services change, at no charge. You can read every chat yourself in your DocsBot account.
What it does in a chat
- Answers from your content, with links to the page the answer came from.
- Says when it doesn't know, and offers your phone number or an enquiry form instead of guessing.
- Takes the customer's details and what they need, and emails them to your team.
- Shows your booking link (Calendly, Cal.com or TidyCal) if you use one.
- For urgent problems, tells the customer to call you straight away.
- Never pretends to be a person.
And the phone?
The same assistant can answer phone calls using DocsBot's voice agents (beta). That's a pilot and not live yet, because my NZ phone number is still being approved. Read about the phone pilot.
What it costs
Installation by me is a one-off NZ$2,000 incl. GST NZ$1,000 incl. GST with an email code (Get 50% off: enter your email for a code). You pay DocsBot directly for the plan, at prices set by DocsBot: most businesses need the Standard plan (US$149, about NZ$263/month), which includes DocsBot's voice agents (beta) at no extra DocsBot fee; busier sites can choose Business (US$499, about NZ$882/month). As a DocsBot partner I may receive a commission from DocsBot. See pricing.
Who looks after it
Me. I'm William McIntosh, based in Auckland, with a Master's in Computer Science focused on AI from Portland State University. You deal with a real local person, not a ticket queue. More about me.
